Welcome to Sue Wall Therapy

offering you a relationship you can trust

in the setting of your choice

"Until we are able to make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate"

Carl Jung.

Counselling and therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting of your choice

Are you struggling, feeling overwhelmed or disconnected? You may feel your life is unmanageable and wonder if things will ever change. Perhaps you're experiencing an endless loop of thoughts and emotions in your mind as well as feeling physically low. Ruminating can leave you feeling more disconnected and numb or fearful and anxious to the messages your body is sending you.

You deserve to live a happier life with your mind and body on the same team. At Sue Wall Therapy, I help you connect to your whole self to access your best self – I facilitate the process for you to get back to an emotional harmony to create long-lasting change.

As an integrative counsellor, I use Clarkson’s five systemic relationships as my framework to practice Person-Centred and Psychodynamic modalities with Neuroscientific theory, specifically understanding the Autonomic Nervous System alongside Somatic Experiencing with the body.

Sue Wall, counsellor

Whatever issue you wish to work on, I tailor our therapy to meet your unique needs. I hear your issues, and respond to unwanted behaviours and unhelpful thought patterns. To quote Jung again, "Until we are able to make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate."

Working online gives you the autonomy to choose where you want therapy to take place. You can have the comfort of home and I will encourage you to bring yourself as you are.

Being seen in the space that brings you safety and comfort helps me take a more informed understanding and greater connection with you.

I offer online counselling for individuals aged 18 and over.

How It Works

As your integrative counsellor, I offer you a therapeutic relationship which is unlike any other in life, advocating for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I am here to listen, understand, and support you. I use Clarkson’s systemic relationships to combine Person-Centred and Psychodynamic therapies with Neuroscientific theory and Somatic Experiencing that centres on the mind-body connection.

I use evidence-based interventions tailored to your specific goals. Our working relationship is a collaborative process and we will work introspectively and meaningfully to empower you to live a more fulfilling life. We can set realistic and measurable goals and track progress throughout the therapy process.

FAQs

Is An Integrative Approach Effective?

For most people, yes. Using an approach which is entirely tailored to your specific issues and goals means that you have a say in how you want to work therapeutically. Therapy is not a 'one size fits all' practicum, and giving you the autonomy to collaborate with me is an integral part of the therapeutic process.

How Do Online Sessions Work?

With online video counselling, you can choose the best time and place for you. Whether at home or travelling, you only need an internet connection to access our sessions from your laptop, tablet, or phone and a headset to ensure confidentiality. Try to find a quiet space where you will be able to be introspective, uninterrupted and comfortable.

Can I Have Someone With Me During Our Session?

No. Whilst I understand that starting your therapeutic journey may be daunting, the best work can only happen between two people without a history together. You will be more able to talk freely if it is you and me; together, we will build our therapeutic alliance.

How Long And How Often Do I Expect To Undergo Counselling?

I offer long-term counselling. Please expect to invest a minimum of 12 weeks together. We will talk about this during our initial call so we may get a clearer understanding of each other. Most sessions start weekly to build momentum, enabling you to make gradual and steady progress towards your goals. Each session builds on the last, so keeping sessions frequent enables you to progress more quickly.

Do I Need A Referral From My GP To Book An Appointment?

No. You are free to access counselling whenever you need extra support. Please get in touch with me directly. To book an appointment call me on 07305 219195 or email contact@suewalltherapy.com or book here.

Is Counselling Really For Me?

Everyone deserves support, but sometimes, it can be challenging to ask for help when struggling. Counselling is a gentle process where we work at a comfortable pace for you. We regularly review this, and we can change how we are working or what's not working for you as we go.

How Will I Feel After My Therapy Sessions?

It's common to feel a range of emotions after your therapy session, which will change weekly. You may feel relieved when you feel heard or understood as if a weight has been lifted. Other times, you may become upset or overwhelmed if a session has brought up painful or difficult memories. I often recommend clients create space and time for themselves after each therapy session.

What Will Our First Face To Face Contact Look Like?

We will arrange a 50 minute zoom call where you can share with me what has brought you to counselling. I will outline the process of how I work and we can talk about the expectations we have about the work we do. I will not charge you for this initial consultation. You may decide we are not a good fit and you will not be charged to find out.

Do I Need To Have My Camera On?

No. I understand there are many reasons why online counselling is suited to individuals that have difficulty talking face to face. I want you to be comfortable however you choose to work. I keep my camera on regardless unless you prefer me not to.
